Incoming Mail Account
Store credentials and settings for receiving e-mail from a POP3 or IMAP server.
Server for Incoming Mail
- Host
- The address of the incoming mail server, typically in the form pop.company.com or imap.company.com, or an IP address. Consult your mail provider's documentation for the correct address.
- Port
- The port used to connect to the mail server. Common defaults: 110 for POP3 (regular and STARTTLS) and 995 for POP3 over SSL/TLS. Consult your mail provider's documentation for the correct port.
- Authentication method

The method used to authenticate with the server:
- Plain text — username and password required.
- Login — username and password required.
- OAuth — username and an OAuth provider configuration required.
- Username
- The login name for the mail account. May be just a username or a full address (e.g. username@mailserver.com) depending on the server.
- Password
- The password for the specified username.
- Confirm password
- Retype the password to verify it was entered correctly.
- OAuth provider
- Required when OAuth is selected as the authentication method. Press Configure to open the OAuth manager and create or edit OAuth accounts.
- Protocol

The protocol used to receive messages:
- POP3 — retrieves messages from the server and typically removes them.
- IMAP — accesses messages on the server without removing them by default.
- Security mode

The type of connection to the mail server:
- None — unencrypted connection.
- STARTTLS — upgrades a plain connection to encrypted.
- SSL / TLS — encrypted from the start of the connection.
- Check server identity
- When enabled, AnyFileBackup verifies that the server's SSL certificate matches the server's address. Recommended for secure connections.
Miscellaneous
- Display title
- A custom name shown in the account list. If left blank, the server host address is used.
- Notes
- Free-text notes about this account.
- Used by
- A read-only list of tasks that reference this account.
- Account ID
- A unique identifier for this account. Use the Copy to clipboard button to copy it. This value cannot be changed.
- Modified
- The date and time the account was last modified. Updated automatically.
- Created
- The date and time the account was created. Cannot be changed.
