Enable remote access to the Task Processor so it can be managed from another computer running AnyFileBackup.
Server Properties
To allow a remote AnyFileBackup instance to connect to this Task Processor, two conditions must both be met: Enable remote access must be turned on, and at least one user profile must be configured with remote access permission.
- Enable remote access
-
The master switch for remote access. When enabled, another copy of the AnyFileBackup application can connect to and manage this Task Processor over the network. When changed, the application restarts automatically without interrupting the Task Processor; this takes a few seconds.
Enabling this option alone is not sufficient — the firewall must also be configured as described below.
- Firewall settings
-
Remote connections use TCP port 18440, which is closed by default. To open it:
- Windows Firewall — press the Configure button and then Add the rule in the opened window. Administrative privileges are required.
- Third-party firewall — configure the firewall manually as described in the Antivirus and Firewall Settings article.
- Users
- Press Configure to open the Users profile manager, where you can add, modify, and remove user profiles and configure their access permissions.
