Launch and Quit

Control what AnyFileBackup does automatically when it starts and what happens to the Task Processor when you close the application.

On Launch

Action
What AnyFileBackup does immediately after it starts:
  • Do nothing — the application opens but takes no automatic action.
  • Start Task Processor local — automatically starts the local Task Processor on launch.
  • Connect to Task Processor remote — automatically connects to a remote Task Processor using the selected connection profile.
Start Task Processor local as
How the local Task Processor is started when Start Task Processor local is selected:
  • Standalone application — runs as a normal application under the current user account.
  • Standalone with admin privileges — runs as a normal application with elevated (administrator) privileges.
  • Windows service — starts the Task Processor Windows service. The service must already be installed (see Windows Service).
Use connection profile
The connection profile to use when Connect to Task Processor remote is selected. Connection profiles are managed in Configuration → Accounts.

On Quit

Action
What happens when you close the AnyFileBackup application:
  • Ask what to do — a prompt asks whether to stop the Task Processor or leave it running.
  • Leave to operate in background — the application closes but the Task Processor continues running and executing tasks.
  • Stop Task Processor — the Task Processor is stopped when the application is closed.

If AnyFileBackup is connected to a remote Task Processor, quitting the application only disconnects the session — the remote Task Processor continues running regardless of this setting.
