General

Configure the task name, group, error handling behaviour, and view task metadata.

Task Identity

Task name
The name of the task. By default, the task name consists of the date and time of its creation. The name can be changed at any time and does not affect the operation of the task.
Group name
The name of the group to which the task belongs. Press Configure to open the Group configuration window where groups can be renamed and new groups created.

Error Handling

This group of settings defines what happens when the task produces an error. An error is generally any misbehaviour in task performance — for example, a failure to copy a file because a Target folder was inaccessible, lack of disk space in Target, failure to restart or hibernate a computer after backup completion, or interruption of a connection to an FTP server.

Override default settings
When checked, the default program-wide Error Handling settings do not apply; the task-specific rules configured below operate for this task only.

When unchecked, the default program-wide Error Handling settings apply. Press Configure to open the Error Handling configuration screen.

Action on error
Defines how AnyFileBackup responds when any error occurs. Three options are available:
  • Deactivate the task until AnyFileBackup restarts — the task is deactivated and will not start until: (a) the AnyFileBackup Task Processor restarts (if running as an application this requires an AnyFileBackup restart; if running as a Windows service this requires a new log on), or (b) the task is activated manually.
  • Stop the task execution until the task's next scheduled start — task performance stops; the task waits for the next scheduled start as defined in the Schedule settings.
  • Ignore the error and continue the task execution — task performance continues as if no error occurred. An error notification is sent by e-mail if the Error Notification and Delivery settings are configured to do so.
Retry interval
The interval in minutes between repeated attempts to perform a faulty action or step. While waiting, the task does not proceed further; it waits for the next attempt.
